Shooting at Off the Wall…guys are killing it!

So last night I was about to upload my footage from the day and my macbook pro wouldn’t boot! Lets hope I can figure it out! Ahhhhh!

So it’s been an eventful couple of days out here on the north shore of Oahu. Pipe has been doing her thing all week. On Tuesday we cruised around and I shot some super8 film at keiki. Lots of kids out there getting pounded in the shore break! Yesterday (Wednesday) we shot at OTW and Pipe. I got a decent amount of footage and will post some frame grabs soon. I haven’t had much of a chance to go through all the footage. My new camera is tapeless but it’s still hard to go through each individual clip every time you hit record it creates a clip. I’m noticing that every day I have somewhere between 400-600 clips to sort through!
Today (Thursday) had an epic display of bodyboarding. A few standouts in my opinion were Kainoa McGee, Skipp, Brian Wise’s insane airdrop, and Lester. Tomorrow is going to be even crazier with the top bodyboarders from around the world competing. I am stoked I get to witness it firsthand, as I heard that the live cast of the event had some technical difficulties! More updates to follow!

Just hanging back in the room. We got hooked up for the first 2 nights at a place right at Rocky Point. Pretty lucky! Now we are at the Turtle Bay condos. Shot for a bit yesterday and today at Pipe. It’s been firing! Looks like they are gonna start the contest on Wednesday. Anyway, short blog post today. Nap time!

Just got into Oahu today. Lots of delays and things that slowed us down. Our condo wasn’t ready at Turtle Bay (stupid previous renters didnt check out in time) so we got hooked up in a sick house near Rocky Point for 2 nights! Pictures to follow

Just thought I’d throw this up..getting in the mood

The countdown before a vacation is always full of excitement and anticipation. Visualizing how things will play out ahead of time is something I like to do before a trip. I can already feel the warm ocean air and sun soaking into my skin as I relax on the beach and enjoy a cold beer. It’s times like those that you could just float away…

I have so many fond memories of the North Shore of Oahu; it’s waves, people, weather, and of course great times with good friends. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since I have stepped foot onto the sand at Ehukai beach park. Seems like just yesterday, but man does time fly! I am excited for this trip, I feel like there is more than just working on my next video project, but that my mind, body, and spirit really need the getaway! I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. This will be THE trip.

One week from today and I will be on a plane for Hawaii! I plan on trying to post daily blog updates throughout the trip, so stay tuned…that is if anyone even reads this thing…
